Friendship

One night I was talking to a friend of mine on the telephone. As we spoke, she said something that hurt me rather badly, and when I told her about it she became indignant. "I thought if we were friends we can say anything we want to each other!" That's close, but not exactly true...you should be able to TALK ABOUT anything you wish. There is a difference. Just because you are friends doesn't mean you no longer have to concern yourself with the other person's feelings...in fact, you should be one of the fiercest protectors of your friend's feelings. People who give no thought to a friend's feelings are just cleverly-disguised enemies.
